Feburary 2010 Update
Discipleship Training School:
As previously mentioned in the last update, we were aiming to start a Computer Studies class at the discipleship training school at the Doisaket base. This month we were able to buy 2 second hand computers to start with and we hope to be able to buy another 3 to have enough for a full class. The students are greatly enjoying and benefiting from the lessons which is helping to learn basic computer skills and to use basic programs including Microsoft office programs as well as email..
For most of these students this is the first time for them to ever use or learn about computers and they are very excited and encouraged to have this opportunity and we are so thankful that we can provide them with more skills that they can use in their ministries when they graduate and leave. We have many funny stories already as they have encountered challenges and it has also been such a blessing in helping them gain more confidence and get more ideas of how to minister and help others and communicate with others..
We are looking forward to see the beginning of the rebuilding of the ATM base in Doisaket which will provide facilities that will be able to accommodate for the expanding missions work and outreaches as well as the discipleship training school. Please continue to pray as we prepare and plan for all of this and we believe that this year we will see it start..
This month we have also begun to focus on encouraging and ministering to the many tribal churches that have been started by our past students. They greatly need support and encouragement as well as teaching materials. One of our team members, Wanchai (also know as Matthew),has had this ministry on his hear and has taken the vision to support and entourage these pastors and churches in the tribal villages. This month he was able to go with 3 other young men to help build a church in a Karen village about 4 hours away from Doisaket. We were also able to give them some practical bible studies which they were grateful to receive.
Pastor Timothy along with two of our ATM team - Sawker and Angela will be in Burma for the next month. Pastor Timothy will be meeting with government officials and the military leaders to get the development projects underway as well as ministering and preaching the Gospel and praying with these leaders and giving Godly counsel. Sawker and Angela will be ministering and teaching with Pastor Saul at their church and bible school in Yangon. Please keep them in your prayers as they bring the light of the Gospel into these areas.
We continue to trust the lord as he provides and opens doors for us to reach more people in Thailand and Burma with the love of Christ. Thank you for your continued prayers, encouragement and support.
